A guide for your Carefree care search
A local name still needs a real check
Keep the search local if that helps. Keep the questions specific wherever the visit happens.
Place is context, not proof
Carefree is a Maricopa County community. The county’s town list places Carefree on the map; it does not check any medical office.
When comparing a local office with remote care, ask who will assess you and where any needed examination will happen.
Check who gives the care
A health-facility licence is permission for a place to provide certain kinds of care. The person giving treatment has a separate licence.
The October 3, 2026 rules exempt many private offices from that separate office licence when Arizona-licensed health professionals run them.
Exceptions include urgent-care centres that stand on their own, overnight stays, and certain pain-management or abortion clinics.
General anaesthesia means medicines that make a patient unconscious for a procedure. Offices providing it also fall outside the exception, apart from a dental-care exception.
The Arizona Health Department has a list of licensed care facilities, meaning places that provide care. Some private offices need not appear there, under the October 3, 2026 rules.
Ask the Health Department whether the particular office needs that licence. Check the person treating you through their own licensing board.
Treat remote care as its own choice
Telehealth is care at a distance, such as a conversation by video.
Under Arizona’s October 3, 2026 rules, the person treating you must decide whether remote care fits your health needs.
Ask about the visit after this visit
Where would an examination happen if it became necessary? Who handles return visits? Ask before arranging care, while the answers can still guide your choice.
A question to keep
Saving keeps your questions on this phone or computer, in the app used to open this guide. Return with that same app to find them. The notebook sends nothing.
