A guide for your Carefree care search
Check the licence of whoever will assess you
Start with a full name and the kind of licence. Then use the matching Arizona board.
For an MD, use the Medical Board
MD means medical doctor. Arizona’s Medical Board has a search for these doctors’ licences and its public decisions about them, called board orders.
Ask for the assessing doctor’s full name. Match the person to the record, rather than relying on a website badge.
For a DO, use the separate doctor board
DO is another type of medical doctor. The full title on this doctor’s licence is doctor of osteopathic medicine.
Arizona has a separate licensing board and search for DOs.
A search of MD records alone does not check a DO.
For a nurse practitioner, check both nursing records
A nurse practitioner has nursing training plus further training to assess and treat patients.
Arizona’s Nursing Board provides two checks: the nurse’s licence and any advanced-practice certificate. That certificate shows permission to carry out the nurse’s further care role.
Ask the board to check both records and whether the person’s role allows the proposed care and prescribing.
For a PA, use the PA board
PA means physician assistant, another kind of care professional. Arizona’s PA board provides a separate licence search.
A clear online record has limits
Arizona puts limits on online complaint and board-decision records, under the rules checked October 6, 2026.
A blank list of board decisions does not mean there were never complaints or earlier decisions. Ask that person’s licensing board for any further public records available.
A question to keep
